"The field of nurturing students for competitive exams was being left out — and we decided to change that."

Dr. Tabish Khan serves as the Secretary of the Urdu Education Society, Akola — an institution carrying a proud legacy of educating students at secondary, higher secondary, and university levels since 1960. Surrounded by decades of educational excellence, Dr. Khan observed a critical gap that no one was addressing.

Akola, often called the "Kota of Maharashtra" for its concentration of coaching centres, had plenty of options — yet affordable, quality coaching for competitive exams like NEET and JEE remained out of reach for many deserving students. The field was being left out.

Driven by this conviction, Dr. Khan joined hands with his partner Mrs. Mehnaz Khan — whose entrepreneurial spirit and deep compassion for students made her the perfect co-founder. Together in 2024, they founded Orbinova Academy — a place where every student, regardless of background, could access world-class coaching and emerge as a star.

The name Orbinova — blending orbit and nova — reflects the institution's belief: every student carries the energy of a star waiting to ignite.

Mrs. Mehnaz Khan is the beating heart of Orbinova Academy. Often described as someone with a heart of gold, she brings an extraordinary depth of compassion to everything she does. Her passion for helping others isn't just professional — it is intrinsic to who she is.

A gifted listener and counsellor, Mehnaz has an exceptional ability to handle the psychological and emotional dimensions of student life, offering life-changing guidance to students and parents facing academic pressure and distress. Her advice has turned around countless struggling students.

Beyond her saint-like warmth, she is razor-sharp intellectually — with a keen, informed understanding of today's world, from geopolitics to personal finance. Her entrepreneurial vision and decisive leadership have been instrumental in building Orbinova into the institution it is today.

Dr. Tabish Khan

Dr. Tabish Khan is the intellectual and institutional force behind Orbinova. An engineer by training, an educator by vocation, and a scholar by passion, he brings together a rare combination of technical rigour, academic depth, and pedagogical innovation.

As the Secretary of the Urdu Education Society, Akola — an institution with over six decades of educational legacy — Dr. Khan has developed a panoramic understanding of the educational needs of students in Vidarbha. It is this vantage point that revealed the glaring gap in quality competitive exam coaching.

His relentless focus on faculty excellence and personalised mentoring — combined with a commitment to providing top-class infrastructure — defines the Orbinova experience. Dr. Khan believes that the right teacher, given the right environment and the time to truly mentor each student, can unlock results that no system alone can deliver.
